Hi ,

I recently purchased a artillery cap badge at a maket stall.I was wondering if anyone could tell whether it was made.on the clip it has the maker DOWLER Birmingham

I bought because My Grand father was in the RGA

I enclose a copy of the actual size

How big is the badge? The reason I ask is it is unusual for Artillery badges to have a Slider and Lug attachments on the back. I have only seen this on one Artillery badge and it was an Officers Beret badge C.1950.

Regards,

Stewart

That is a Royal artillery cap badge but in the reduced size for the beret dating from the late 1940s or early 1950s.

The RGA/RFA in WW1 was the same design but bigger and with a single slider.
