Hi Simon

my wife is trying to find out information about her uncle

Private SJ Bowen 10285

hecwas in the 1st KSLI and died on Feb 12th 1915 and is buried in cite de Bon jean in Armentieres. They were a huge family and he was the eldest. My wife,s father being younger was in WW2 landing on D day.

we think he went to France at the onset of hostilities but would welcome and real facts. Regards

Hello Simon

Just found your post all this time later so really hope you're still out there.

My grandfather Thomas Collier served with the KSLI 1/4th. Reg. No. 200447.  I know he got a shrapnel wound to his left shoulder.  I know he received the Victory and the British War medals and a surviving son has those.  He also received the Territorial Forces medal but that has been lost.

I'd love any details you might have on him. He was in the army before the war started and I'd love to know all the places his regiment visited so I could retrace his steps.

Would you be able to help me at all please?
