Hertfordshire Regiment which Battalion

CWGC & SDGW list this soldier as death with the Hertfordshire Regiment 29/3/1918 and he is recorded on the Pozieres Memorial, can anyone identify a likely Battalion and any info on the action or circumstance of his death, any help appreciated, Geoff

Unless I'm mistaken didn't the Hertfordshire Regiment only have one battalion that served overseas, the 1/1st? I believe all the other battalions 2/1st, 3/1st and 4/1st were UK based.
