Private Thomas Best, No. 8,879, 2nd Batt. Scots Guards, killed in action in France on 29th April 1915.

On the CWGC he is listed as killed in action in France on 29th April 1918, however there is an In Memoriam notice in a 1916 newspaper giving his date of death as 29th April 1915.

Any information on him would be appreciated.

Regards,

Pere

Many thanks Devonmaid,

I’m fairly new to the Forum. If it is a transcription error, as Jon says, is there any way to have it corrected?

Pere,

It may be worth contacting forum member Terry Denham regarding transcription errors. Nice to see confirmation on the MIC.

cheers, Jon
