I need a little help here,

I have the following on a MIC:

"Swarbrick Arthur, L.C.H.S., Pob Coy/ Private, 287048, 581st Battalion"

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the initials actually refer?

Thanks

I believe it actually says "H S Lab Coy" or Home Service Labour Company.

I agree with Steve, the full title of abbreviations would read... "Labour Corps. Home Service Labour Company. 581st Battalion"

I agree it is 581st. It should be Company not Battalion.

581 was a Home Service Employment Company stationed at Felixstowe
