"Eastern Front" sites reachable from Hungary

Wasn't sure if this should go here or in the new "other theatres" section - opted for here.

I will be visiting the in-laws in Hungary this month and it has emerged that I may get some "free" time to do a quick trip or two. I will have a car. Likely to be limited to a couple of days/long weekend at a go (not adverse to driving a reasonable distance). It's likely that my better half will be with me so it would be good if the site had more than great war interest! Having never explored very much beyond the Western Front, mountaintop battlefields etc are of great interest to me however I suspect Mrs 4thG. would prefer other things as well!

If I can't come up with a plan I will grab the garlic and head to Transylvania!

I'll be based midway between Budapest and Vienna (in Gyor). If I can pull this off I will be a happy camper as I already have tickets to see Liverpool at Rapid Vienna!
