lostinspace Posted 30 June , 2009 Share Posted 30 June , 2009 Not sure if this is the proper place to post but ran across an interesting book and thought I would pass it on to the forum. The title is: "A Memoir of Lt. Col. Edward Anthony Steel, D.S.O., R.H.A. and R.F.A., 1880-1919". You can find it on the Internet Archive (American Libraries) and download it. Col. Steel was a pre-war regular with service in India and Africa and joined 35 Battery (37 Brigade R.F.A., 4 Div.) as a Capt. in Sept. 1914, was wounded twice in France but died in Russia (1919). Before the war he had served with L Battery, R.H.A. There is also an order of battle listing brigade and battery officers as of Sept. 1914. Hopefully this info hasn't been posted before. rflory Posted 2 July , 2009 Share Posted 2 July , 2009 I wish I had known that six months ago, as I would not have spent £50 for an original copy. Dick Flory
lostinspace Posted 2 July , 2009 Author Share Posted 2 July , 2009 Sorry to hear that you paid so much money for it, if I find any more books on the R.A. I'll be sure to give you a shout. Regards, lostinspace
