Tom Morgan Posted 28 June , 2009 Share Posted 28 June , 2009 1 - I think this is the Canadian Memorial at Crest Farm, Passchendaele. 2 - the view from Crest Farm Memorial, looking out towards Ypres. 3 - ? Pic 4 - Hill 60 with the original Queen Victoria's Rifles memorial on the top (the present one is made of parts of it). Pic 5 - Hill 60 - this trench is no longer visible. Pic 6 - Vimy - you can see part of the preserved trenches and (on the left) the same little tree that appears to the right of Pic 10. Pic 7 - no longer there, this is the original memorial on the Mole, at Zeebrugge, destroyed by the Germans in 1942. Pic 8 - Tyne Cot. Pic 9 - Tyne Cot. Pic 10 - Vimy Pic 11 - ? burlington Posted 28 June , 2009 Author Share Posted 28 June , 2009 Phew! Thanks Tom. Anyone for 3 & 11 or alternates from Tom's posting? Martin
Simon Jones Posted 28 June , 2009 Share Posted 28 June , 2009 I think 1. & 2. are Hill 62. 3. Reminds me of St George's Church, Ypres. 11. is the 47th Division memorial at High Wood as it used to look. Great photos!

burlington Posted 29 June , 2009 Author Share Posted 29 June , 2009 Oh dear, I've killed the thread... Simon Have you? Why? All opinions gratefully received. The info. is required for a next door neighbour of my brother who has a pack of pics labelled ' WW1 trenches' though in reality the only visible WW1 connotations are of those I have posted. I thought they were post-WW2 BUT it does seem that they are pre-WW2. The pics are in great condition for their age and are Kodak prints.
