`12th koyli miners

Hi all,

can anyone help me with some info on the 12th koyli miners, as I believe that a late relative of mine served with this battalion,his name was john bounds service no 2000 enlisted in 1915 and belive he was discharged in 1916 for some reason or other. Would he be entitled to any awards? kia

Cant find an MIC on either Ancestry or the National Archives. 4 pages of his papers survive though, he was discharged as medically unfit for military service.

The 12th were made up i believe by Wakefield and Pontefract miners.
