Remembered Today:

BWM Clasp

Recommended Posts

My wife's grandfather served with the RHA in the Indian Army and his MIC states a clasp of M526/23 or 826/23.

If someone advise me as to what this was for I would be most grateful

Looks like it is the reference in medal rolls.

Since the Army clasps were never authorized (unlike the Navy's) it can't be a reference to clasps.

Looks like he was Sub Conductor, Indian Army Ordnance Department.

Concur with "The Squirrel" most likely to be Medal Roll Page references...;the space reserved for Comments is unusually headed "Clasps to BWM" presumambly in anticipation of their approval which did not materialise with regard to the Army.[The RN Clasps were approved but never issued]

I beleive the National Army Museum holds Indian Army Records, it may be worth contacting them.
