Victor Carter "South Down"

This is the man in question; more than six foot tall and covered in tatoos; including one of Buffalo Bill on each fore-arm! The ashes of his daughter, Jessie, were scattered on the grave a few years ago.

Carter is in the centre of the back row. Photo taken in Sussex in 1914.
