majorsam Posted 22 June , 2009 Share Posted 22 June , 2009 I am researching this soldier who was kia on 27th May 1918 in France. I have done the CWGC & SDGW and I have his medal card but his service record has not survived. Before the war he was living in the town of Flint, Flintshire and according to the Flintshire County Herald he was a native of Moston, Manchester and was a bricklayer and at the time of his death, it was stated, he was about 33 years of age but I can't find him in any census. His name is recorded on the Chas. Macintosh & Co. Ltd., Manchester Employees’ Roll of Honour (I least I think it's him) so apart from all that I am a little stuck regarding his family history. The only other thing I can think of is the Manchester newspapers of the time so I was wondering if anyone on this forum has come across him at all. I would be grateful for any help.
