PhilB Posted 22 June , 2009 Share Posted 22 June , 2009 If the left hip is deemed the ergonomically optimum place for a sword, then, if not carrying a sword, wouldn`t it also be the best place for a revolver? But then, all the fast draws in Westerns are from the right hip! Are there many occasions on which both sword and revolver would be carried? CROONAERT Posted 22 June , 2009 Share Posted 22 June , 2009 QUOTE (Phil_B @ Jun 22 2009, 11:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are there many occasions on which both sword and revolver would be carried? in many of the "fights of '14". The revolver, at this time, was considered to be the officer's "secondary" weapon. Later, it was common to encounter the pistol being carried on the left also.
