high wood Posted 19 June , 2009 Share Posted 19 June , 2009 I have finally cracked the name on the back of this photograph and identified the soldier who came from Huddersfield as L/25630 Driver Charles H Toulcher, RFA. According to the 1911 census he was born in 1899 and thus would have been very young to have served in the Great War. Could someone please post his medal index card to see if it shows when he went overseas? I expect he will only have had a BWM & Victory pair but if he was entitled to a 1914/15 Star he would definitely have been underage. (Sorry this should have been in the soldiers section). high wood Posted 20 June , 2009 Author Share Posted 20 June , 2009 Mark, thank you, that all ties in nicely. I now need to see if his service papers have survived. Simon
