Chiad Fhear Posted 14 June , 2009 Share Posted 14 June , 2009 I seem to be making exceptionally good use of the Forums of late and now I have a query about another distant relative ... 240356 Company Serjeant Major James Bruce of the 1st/5th Batallion, Seaforth Highlanders who was killed in action in France on 27 July 1918 and was buried at Marfaux. I noticed in the CWGC Casualty Details that he was awarded the DCM and I'm sure there's someone out there who can enlighten me as to where I can find out - or can tell me - when, and for what! I'd like to locate the relevant page in the London Gazette promulgating the award to add to my files ... but basically need the date to be starting with.
