Ghost Posted 10 June , 2009 Share Posted 10 June , 2009 On a flying day it used to be ₤10/car in the 60s when I cycled there (free on a bike). I see its gone up a little now... Alan
JPAE Posted 10 June , 2009 Share Posted 10 June , 2009 Alan, Blimey, I used to get £5-6-3 a week in the sixties! £10 would be a hell of a lot. The entrance fee for Annette and myself a fortnight ago was £10 each plus £5 for the Swiss Garden, and £3 car park fee which was reimbursed in the Restaurant. Of course, this was a non-flying day, but the static exhibits, displays and information labels are brilliant and well worth the £30 for two. The garden is a tranquil contrast to inside the hangers, and a pleasant way to end the day. I would recommend Old Warden, Biggleswade, and the Shuttleworth collection to any forum member. Once again, thanks for the pictures, including the extra ones. Phil.
Seadog Posted 10 June , 2009 Share Posted 10 June , 2009 I echo Phil’s sentiments, a great place and well worth a visit. I am getting very jealous of all the super flying shots posted here so here is the only type that I can take - On the ground Norman

Guest KevinEndon Posted 10 June , 2009 Share Posted 10 June , 2009 Norman, that's a brilliant photo, how did you manage to capture the building flying past the plane at a great speed of knots. Kevin

4thGordons Posted 10 June , 2009 Share Posted 10 June , 2009 Thanks for posting all these. Bought a bit of a lump to my throat actually as my granny and grandad used to take me there most years when I was a lad, great times. They lived just up the road from the sheds at Cardington too. Thanks again. Chris
