Apologies for my earlier post , I have now re read the medal inscription of John Atkinson , A/CPL 31902 Manchester Regt, any info please and also of Pte 8230 W Barker , Essex Regt and Pte A 204528 Wheat Kings Royal Rifle Corp , can anyone tell me what the A Denotes prior to the service number . The A 6 figured Prefix in the KRRC denoted Men posted from Training Reserve Battalions.

He was issued Silver War Badge #01151 and was discharged due to wounds. Hope this helps a little.
