Desmond7 Posted 29 May , 2009 Share Posted 29 May , 2009 I have a soldier date of death 10 July 1916 from 36th Ulster Div buried at St. Souplet up near Cambrai. Would it be a fair to assume he may well have been wounded and captured 1st July, evac'd up to Cambrai base area by Germans (most likely to a hospital) but died of wounds? Des Desmond - personally speaking I think thats the likely outcome. The site of St Souplet Cemetery was originally a German cemetery but these were disinterred and moved elsewhere after the Armistice and British graves brought in, so this may not be his orginal grave. Desmond7 Posted 30 May , 2009 Author Share Posted 30 May , 2009 Thanks Johnathan - I cannot come up with a more likely scenario. Des
