Rifle racks - Anyone know where to get one?

Hi gang,

am trying to source a wooden rifle rack of the type that would have been in use in a guardroom, and continued in service until it was replaced by the ones for the new SA80 rifle!

I'm helping with a museum project, and am trying to source one, or alternatively, if anyone has the dimensions, sizes, type of wood used, then i can get one made from new. It's for the smle rifle!

Any help as always is greatly appreciated!

One place to look is here => http://www.the-enfield-collectors-digest.org/

One issue mentions a rifle rack.....

I think I might have that issue - I will have a dig. I am not sure it is a British Army pattern one though.

I do have the edition. The rack/plans make no claim to being "British Army" design or type.

It is variable to hold a number of rifles vertically.

Drop me a PM is you would like a scan.

There are also a number of rack ideas and vendors HERE although they are mostly in the US, plans are straightforward.

I know that the Rack in the Armoury at Longmoor Training Camp is for No Rifles and still in use, we have a rack on our Armoury that is probably same Era and comfortably holds SMLE's. Also the Racks in the NRA armoury Bisley are Army and made for No4's

No help really but at the last but one Liverpool Arms Fair one of the dealers had the rifle rack from a Volunteer Battalion Drill Hall ( cant remember what the designation on the rack was or who the dealer was ). Does anyone else remember seeing it at that or other Fairs ?

What a great item it would be for a rifle collector.
