One of my Gran's brothers was a territorial and got mocked with this, two world wars and a decent chunk of coldwar later it was dusted off and directed at myself:-

Since poor father joined the Territorials,

Ours is a happy little band,

He wakes us up in the middle of the night,

he says we've got to be prepared to fight,

He puts poor mother in the dustbin to stand on sentry guard,

While me and brother John,

With our little nightshirts go marching round the old backyard
