Whitehead Posted 7 April , 2004 Share Posted 7 April , 2004 Bill, I know that the 55th RIR and 15th RIR have good sized regimental histories while the 170th IR is almost useless, it has only a few lines of detail for each day, almost as if taken from a war diary. I found no listing for the 52nd Foot Artillery Battalion, there is a reference to the 1 Pommersches Fussartillerie Regiment Nr. 2 but I do not know if it is the same. I couldn't find a history of Fußartillerie-Bataillon 52, but you should find out which pre-war Fußartillerie-Regiment raised it. These regimental histories often cover the 'Kriegsformationen' too. On the 170th, anything is better than nothing! Any suggestions as to where/how I could access these regimental histories.
