auchonvillerssomme Posted 13 May , 2009 Share Posted 13 May , 2009 Have you told them, this looks like simple transcription error.
JimSmithson Posted 13 May , 2009 Share Posted 13 May , 2009 Definite error Mack, they need to be informed. His MIC can be used as evidence plus the fact that the 11th Manchesters were not in Turkey, where he is buried, in 1916. Jim

Terry Denham Posted 13 May , 2009 Share Posted 13 May , 2009 The original register shows 1916 and so you will need to show evidence. The overseas death index itself is not reliable enough but the death certificate would be. MICs are also sometimes wrong. This is no doubt an original typo somewhere. If so, it won't be difficult to fix. I'll see what can be gleaned from CWGC.

manchester regiment Posted 18 May , 2009 Author Share Posted 18 May , 2009 the reason that pte adams could not have been killed,in 1916,is his grave location, hes buried in lala baba cemetery, gallipoli, these graves, were from the original cemetery+a few graves, brought in from a few surrounding burials, after the armistice. mack
Terry Denham Posted 29 May , 2009 Share Posted 29 May , 2009 The date has been amended by CWGC to 1915. It was an original typographical error.
