Remembered Today:

Trip in Flanders and Artois

Recommended Posts

I've spent a few days last february in Flanders and Artois, visiting some famous places. Instead of pictures I've made some drawings of the places.

Do you recognize them all ?

Many thanks for those kind comments

I must admit that I discovered the great share of fighting sustained by Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zeland, South Africa, India in visiting battlefields from the Somme to Flanders. I haven't heard a lot about it at school.

After seeing the sadness of most of the huge french military cemeteries, I felt a bit comfort in standing a moment in some small, flowery cemeteries, lost in the countryside. For example the Wavans cemetery, west of Doullens, with James MC Cudden and Robert Little among 45 graves.

some more
