BullerTurner Posted 25 February , 2019 Share Posted 25 February , 2019 Gunner Admiral? Reminds me of the story of a senior naval person who remonstrated with a disrespectful Gunner. "Don't you salute Admirals in the Royal Artillery, man?" " No Sir. We don't have Admirals in the Royal Artillery." ii once knew a new a soldier called Gunner O'Heare. Say it quickly. Yes, it was too good a joke to promote him. there was also a very talented rugby player, Bombardier Commander...
Guest Posted 9 November , 2019 Share Posted 9 November , 2019 I know this is a very old post but thought I would let you know that Adjuvant Tyrwhitt Lumley Luttrell Thimbleby was my grandfather. Sadly I dont have his medals to see whether his name could be included on the rim! He was a partner in Thimbleby and Shorland auctioneers in Reading which still exists to this day.
