Yes the Mud and General recreation of Squalor and Death comes across very well, shame about the awful storyline and "Acting" though. ^_^

Yep, one of the leading actors now advertises BT internet, so it didn't exactly boost his career much!! :D

Plus the fact that the British Soldiers were equipped with WW2 NO.4 Pattern .303 Rifles detracted somewhat.I have just managed to get hold of the complete series of the BBC Production of Vera Britains "Testament of Youth",weighing in at a mighty 4 and a Half Hours running time. The Series is unavailable anywhere ! apart from a GREEK Import available on Amazon which retails for a whopping £69.99..somehow the lovely Cheryl Campbell being dubbed in Greek does not seem quite right. The copy i obtained is in English.Have you seen "For King & Country",another forgotten B&W Classic set in WW1 and starring a very young Tom Courtney,Barry Foster,Dirk Bogarde,Leo Mckern,Alan Lake, plus a few more worthies whose names escape me at the moment.

Well done on getting "testament of Youth" and I bet it was nowhere near £70 either! ;) Is it true that a new version is being made for the big screen?

I have seen For "King and Country" but it was a while ago, shall have to watch it again!!

Good Call Bruce..what a great choice for the leading Lady. And as for the part of Edward her Brother it has to be Stephen Fry.

Matt was right with 1915 - great Australian mini-series, well worth viewing.

Thought that might take longer to guess!
