Guest RobinS Posted 3 April , 2004 Share Posted 3 April , 2004 My great-grandfather, Edward Percival Thompson, killed 21/3/18 while serving 1st Bn West Yorks, believed Vaux-Vraucourt, nr Bapaume. No grave. Arras memorial. Lived/joined up York, believed 1914/v early 1915. Family thinks he may have been in Dardanelles with W. Yorks (but not 1st Bn). Regimental history has been checked. Perhaps a mention in letters, memoirs, local histories? Any information or thoughts very gratefully received - trying to find a photograph of him, at least.
