Bob Coulson Posted 2 April , 2004 Share Posted 2 April , 2004 Capt Haynes is on the 1914 Oct Army List with the 6th Yorkshires, he then appears to have transferred to the RFC. He is listed as killed September 26th 1918. Would anyone have any info on his time with the RFC? Most grateful for any help. Bob.

Bob Coulson Posted 6 April , 2004 Author Share Posted 6 April , 2004 Looked into his further and it turns out to be a tragic tale. Captain Haynes was taxiing his machine on his home field at night. He accidently turned the plane into a ditch but crawled away unscathed. He then went round to the front of the machine to check the damage when his mechanic who had run over inadvertently triggered the guns killing Captain Haynes instantly. Very sad story, Bob.
