deb Whittaker Posted 12 April , 2009 Posted 12 April , 2009 My great-grandfather Walter JW Langford (44210) was in the 122th Labour Company of the Labour Corps (reg no. 72890). His service records state he was in France from 6.3.17 to 23.7.18, but no other details. The Long Long Trail does not give any specific information about the whereabouts of companies in the Labour Corps other to say that records are not good. I've not come up with anything on Google. Has anyone researched them or have suggestions where to go next? Thank you, Deb
River97 Posted 13 April , 2009 Posted 13 April , 2009 Deb, me again. Walter started the war as a private in the Queen's Regiment, this is where he got the service number of 44210. Saw his service records and the MIC. His service number when he joined the Labour Corps was 72879. He was entitled to the BWM and Victory medal at the end of the war, which he actually signed for in 1921. There may be some experts on the Labour Corps here who can help you pinpoint where he served. Cheers Andy.
