Comosus Posted 9 April , 2009 Posted 9 April , 2009 Netherwood "Ned" Hughes, the 4th last British veteran of the First World War has sadly died at the age of 108. He would have been 109 in June. http://www.accringtonobserver.co.uk/commun...n_dies_aged_108 Henry Allingham, due to turn 113 in June, paid tribute, saying "Why him and not me? I’m always ready to go. It never gets any easier." That leaves just two British veterans living in the UK: Henry Allingham, and Harry Patch.
