Apart from going into Cambrai itself has anyone got any suggestions as to where a coachload could land for a lunchtime snacks, drinks and toilets?

There's a place opposite Anneux Cemetery near Bourlon Wood with room outside for a coach (or two).

It was quiet when we were there so he'll be glad of the custom,

You won't get a coachload in the place at Anneux. I have been in there many times over the years, and used to take small groups in there, but it could not cope with a coach and there not enough seats! Taking coaches to Cambrai we always go into the centre as there is no-where on the battlefield really geared up for coach parties.

Thanks for replies. BTW Paul I now have a photocopy of Arthur Graham on Lt Col James Neville Marshall VC thanks to your tip!

Glad you managed to get that!

If you were in the south of the battlefield there is a "steak-house" at Lateau Wood - but you might want to check it out earlier in the day for enough seating and opening times. Also it s more than a snack.

Again, from the south of the Cambrai battlefield, I have driven down to Peronne before for lunch, visit the museum etc.

Are there any any eats and pee stops north of Cambrai and up towards Valenciennes?

Nothing on the motorway. You could pop into Denain for a Carrefour or just wait till Valenciennes where there are plenty of places on the Grande Place. Or go to Auchan in Cambrai, on the road towards Vn.
