Anyone know what is the easiest route by train to Ieper - does one take Eurostar to Brussels or to Lille? Also anybody have an idea of the cost?

Hello,

I think the fastest is Eurostar to Lille Europe, the on foot to Lille Flandres and there you should take the train to Courtrai/Kortrijk. In Kortrijk there's a train to Ieper every hour.

Jan

Mike.

I went to Ieper last year and took the train from Ashford to Bruxelles Midi and from there to Ieper (the Poperinge train).

From memory each leg of the journey takes about 1hr 45 minutes. The Eurostar fare was £60-£70 return and the journey to Ieper was £17-£20 return.

I parked in the long term car park at Ashford and I think that cost around £30 for the weekend

It might not be the quickest route (I haven't tried getting off at Lille yet) but it was easy and fine for the single traveller who doesn't need a car in Belgium.
