Howarth1918 Posted 4 April , 2009 Share Posted 4 April , 2009 Hi, Does anyone have any information about Private John Howarth of the Lincolnshire Regiment? John was made a POW and subsequently died in a German POW camp. This man sacrificed his life in a small town in Yorkshire to fight for his country. Anyone who can tell me anything about his service career is greatly appreciated. He was my grandmother's cousin and she never forgot his loss (always crossed any 'germa*' names out in the tv/radio times). Best Wishes, Craig.............. Guest Posted 2 November , 2017 Share Posted 2 November , 2017 Hello Craig.. Your relative is buried in the citadel military cemetery in Poznan. On 1XI I always leave a candle on his grave .. I do not know why more than 20 years ago I chose this grave, but it is something special for me.. Regards-Julian
