GlenBanna Posted 4 April , 2009 Share Posted 4 April , 2009 I am planning to visit Ypres. Anyone any advice on the best way to get there without a car. Just me and a rucksack! Glen
iain mchenry Posted 5 April , 2009 Share Posted 5 April , 2009 Glen, I think your quickest routes would be: Belfast City Airport - Brussels Zaventem with BMI. This requires a change of planes at Heathrow. Then train from Brussels to Ypres, taking about 90 - 120 mins. It would not be the cheapest route though. The cheapest may be Belfast - Dublin airport by coach. Dublin - Brussels Charleroi by Ryanair and then Charleroi to Ypres (Via Brussels) by train. You could cut the train journeys out and rent a car at either Brussels airports. From either Zaventem or Charleroi airports you are about 2 hours by car away from Ypres.
