Remembered today my uncle, L/Cpl 8037, John Meek Norris, 1st Battallion Lincolnshire Regiment who died on this day in 1917, of wounds received in a skirmish on the Croisille-Henin Road, and is buried in Warlincourt Halte British Cemetery, Saulty, France.

One of those young men who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy today.

We must never forget them.
