LowNslow Posted 31 March , 2009 Share Posted 31 March , 2009 It was forty years ago this week that the Biggles Biplane BE-2 replica made its first flight from Sywell. (Coincidentally in the same month and year as the prototype Concorde). We were determined to get some wings on the aeroplane to celebrate the anniversary and last Saturday afternoon, we did it. Big congratulations to Matt Boddington and Paul Ford for all their hard work on the wings. I really just pitched up at the last minute to take photos! Plenty more pics on the www.biggles-biplane.com website - and watch out for more as we prepare for a 'roll-out' sometime soon!

Adrian Roberts Posted 31 March , 2009 Share Posted 31 March , 2009 There's a lot of work gone into those wings! It's looking good! What is the maltese cross in the background painted onto?

Paul Ford's Fokker DR1 replica, which 'Biggles' Biplane' helped him complete and take through initial flight testing. In return for that he's helping us build the BE wings - as while building the triplane, he got more practice in building wings than anyone else we know!!
