I came across this in an excellent publication Tandragee Remembers by Richard Newell.

Joseph Irwin in a letter home to his Mother,do,nt send me food, send me "Woodbine's"

also that his knees were cold, because of wearing the Kilt.

He is remembered on Tandragee War Memorial.
