ARMAGH Posted 30 March , 2009 Share Posted 30 March , 2009 I was shown a Sam-Browne last Fri and on the under side was this UVF badge, the gentleman that had the belt said a member of his family had worn it in the Great War, it is possible that this Sam-Browne had been at the Somme. Any members of the Forum with any information on this subject? Yours Joe
Grovetown Posted 1 April , 2009 Share Posted 1 April , 2009 I was shown a Sam-Browne last Fri and on the under side was this UVF badge, the gentleman that had the belt said a member of his family had worn it in the Great War, it is possible that this Sam-Browne had been at the Somme. Any members of the Forum with any information on this subject? Yours Joe It is indeed possible, but without better provenance than a family assertion, you wouldn't/ couldn't put your house on it being so. Ulster Volunteers Best wishes, GT.
