I hope I have done this correctly. There should be a picture of a damaged memorial attached, It seems to be copper/bronze plated stamped steel that was damaged by water dripping from a leaking heating pipe. Does anyone have any experience of renovating similar items or advice/cost on such a repair.. JIM

I take it it has been stabilised to prevent any further deteroration. I think you will have to find a specialist conservator to do the restoration. Try asking your county council archaeology officer he or she should be able to point you in the right direction.

I think you should also contact the War Memorials Trust here who can offer advice and may also be able to come up with a grant towards the cost of renovation.

Or try your local University, they have excellent facilities and may even take it on as an assignment!
