Guest philreid Posted 25 March , 2009 Posted 25 March , 2009 Ive recently aquired the Coldstream Guard sword of a FW Butler-Thwing and am trying to find out more about the man , a Francis W Butler -Thwing was a Capt in the Guards , was one of the Harvard volunteers in the Great War first enlisting in the Irish lancers .His Father was Charles Butler-Thwing who was well published and Francis himself managed to turn out a book of poems himself during the war but thats about all i can find out about the man and his wartime efforts! Any imformation on Capt FW (if ive got the right man)and his military history (poetry aside) would be greatly appreciated ,Phil in Australia
