RED47 Posted 23 March , 2009 Posted 23 March , 2009 Good Afternoon Everyone I am researching my families military history and wondering if anyone can flesh out some details on the information I have so far discovered. It would appear that there is no record of him at CWGC although he was KIA on 27/05/1918. Am I correct in assuming from the "Ancestry" record that he had been awarded the Military medal ? Any info would be appreciated Thank you
archangel9 Posted 23 March , 2009 Posted 23 March , 2009 He is at CWGC - http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_detail...casualty=726221 and yes he was awarded the Military Medal. John

John Thank you for that information. I have found out that it was wrongly flagged in the CWGC d/base. I have now got a copy of his medal card, but do not understand the codes used. I would like to find further info on how, where and when he won the Military Medal so would appreciate any guidance and information Thanks Edward_Fowler_Medal_card_1.pdf
archangel9 Posted 23 March , 2009 Posted 23 March , 2009 Unfortunately that link is to a blank document. The London Gazette is the place to look for MM date and possible citation. http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/search Does the MIC have an entry for the London Gazette issue number? Normally something like L.G 484748 John

I (hopefully correctly this time) attach the medal card again Any further info would be appreciated Edward_Fowler_Medal_card.pdf
