Private Edward Fowler 136796 Machine Gun Corps

Good Afternoon Everyone

I am researching my families military history and wondering if anyone can flesh out some details on the information I have so far discovered.

It would appear that there is no record of him at CWGC although he was KIA on 27/05/1918.

Am I correct in assuming from the "Ancestry" record that he had been awarded the Military medal ?

Any info would be appreciated

Thank you

He is at CWGC -

and yes he was awarded the Military Medal.

Thank you for that information. I have found out that it was wrongly flagged in the CWGC d/base.

I have now got a copy of his medal card, but do not understand the codes used. I would like to find further info on how, where and when he won the Military Medal so would appreciate any guidance and information

Thanks

Unfortunately that link is to a blank document. The London Gazette is the place to look for MM date and possible citation.

Does the MIC have an entry for the London Gazette issue number? Normally something like

L.G 484748

Thanks for that, I have found some details by trawling through the L.G. the hard way. he is listed in a supplement to L.G. on 26 April 1917 But no other information than his number, name , rank, regiment.

I (hopefully correctly this time) attach the medal card again

Any further info would be appreciated
