The attached rifle bucket was purchased at War and Peace in 2008, and was sold as a being used by Commonwealth forces. It is not marked and has no broad arrow or dating to suggest its origin.

I have noticed, since entering the forum, that Tony E, on March 7 2008, posted a picture of a mounted soldier. This was from the Rexer Manual for the Madsen rifle, and was very similar to the one in our possession.

Would it be possible for anyone in the forum to confirm if the bucket is for a Rexer, Madsen, or any other weapon.

Hi

I have tried to enlarge the part of the photograph that shows the bucket for the Madsen/Rexer. There is certainly a similarity.

What does the Hotchkiss cavalry bucket look like?

I know virtually nothing about cavalry accoutrements, so I will leave it to others to comment.

Regards
