eltoro1960 Posted 18 March , 2009 Posted 18 March , 2009 Hi there welcome to the Forum, the 3rd Battalion were a reserve battalion stationed at Chelsea barracks. If your relative was Martin Dohney I would say that he was transferred to 2nd Scots Guards and went to France on 27th August,1914 , they became part of 20 Brigade , 7th Division in September , 1914. Off the top of my head I couldn't say where he was wounded but I might be able to dig up some more information for you. John

He was my Grandmothers first husband. His records do show that he went to France on the 27th August 1914, but do not show where he was wounded in action. I did read that the third battalion were a reserve battalion, I'd be very grateful for any information you may have. Thankyou, Richard.
