John Harvey Private 12940 South Lancashire

I am having trouble finding this man on CWGC who has a number of pages on Ancestry which show he died of wounds received in action on 14/08/1918.

His papers have him named variously as John or Jack.

Born in Birkenhead Cheshire the family moved to New Brighton Cheshire around the time of his death and he is shown on the Wallasey Memorial Panels.

I am sure he is hiding in the Harvey's but I am unable to spot him.

Could someone be kind enough to point him out.

Thank you very much Steve I'm glad you found him I am going mad with 6 different Harvey's to find, I had no idea this was such a busy surname.

I just knew he was hiding in there somewhere.

I am really going crazy as I have just realised that I have this man under David. So am I looking for another John Harvey or are they both the same?

At least now I have found his papers!

To think I used to look at War Memorials and think everything was totally above board so to speak and I had never heard of soldiers having an alias or people still alive who were on memorials-I think I was leading a very sheltered life.
