Forum Member, kinnethmont, was kind enough to e-mail me photos of the above which I saw as a youth, growing up in the Village.

It includes the following stanza.

"Sleep lightly Lads

Thou art for King's Guard at daybreak

With spotless kit. Turn out

And take a place of Honour"

Does the verse come from a recognised Poem or is it homespun?

If you wish to see photos of the Roll, including verse,in situ,it can be viewed at The Scottish Memorial Website.Relevant Section is-Aberdeenshire-Rolls of Honour.

TIA

Thank you Spoons(Paul?)

Trust you are pleased to see the result of the "hare coursing" you started, on the Project. ;)

Best wishes.
