Gentlemen

Could anyone furnish me with details of the actions which involved the 9th Bn., L.N.L.Regt. on or about this date.

I am just looking up a young soldier who DOW on this date, Sam Fletcher of Bury.

Any experts on this unit out there?

Dick

Hi Dick,

The 9th LNL in early September, 'relieved other divisions on the Westhoek Ridge and in the trenches in front of Glencose Wood and Stirling Castle, but on the 9th September the Division was moved once again.'

Hope this helps.

Nice one Bill.

Yes, this information gives me a start point to work back & forward from.

Many thanks for that, the LNL's are not really my unit, but I am willing to learn.

Cheers,

Dick Whitworth (Whitworth being the home village of the chap concerned)
