Remembered Today:

Devon Regiment

Hi all

I have a pair of medals to an Arthur E. Cornwall who served from 1916 to 1919 with the Devon Regiment with number 31788. I can't find any service records for him online but that is another matter (they were probably a casualty of the blitz)

With his original Discharge Form came a cloth "flash" or badge of a tank. Now I might be way off the mark but this would suggest to me that he (the Devon Regiment) had some exposure to or were employed on tanks?

Please put me out of my misery and solve the riddle for me.

Regards

Rory

Or he'd done a swap with a tankee ? The MIC says nothing about Tank units. You might have to unravel what the MIC refs say and the original Medal Rolls, there might be a note there.
