Moriaty Posted 15 May , 2007 Share Posted 15 May , 2007 Steve, you very kindly found some ILN photos for me from previous requests, I wonder if I could trouble you for three more that arose out of my recent trip to Gallipoli. I visited the graves of two of them and saw the third listed on the Helles memorial, so would like to put a face to a name. Two of them were in the iILN ssue 4 September 1915 Captain E W Lloyd-Jones, Royal Welsh Fusiliers Lieutenant Colonel B E Philips, Royal Welsh Regiment or Royal Welsh Fusiliers From ILN issue 11 September 1915 Major A H Wheeler Thank Moriaty

Jesse Posted 11 June , 2007 Share Posted 11 June , 2007 Hello Steve. Do you know if a photo of Commander Robert H. Lewellyn of HMS Queen Mary, KIA at Jutland, appeared in an issue of the Illustrated London News? I have a fairly complete set of the Roll of Honour pages published in the Illustrated London News 1914-1918. If you would like me to search for a photo of an Officer killed during the Great War then please reply to this post. I need rank, name, regiment and date of death details. There's always a possibility he may have been recorded in this publication. N.B. it may take me a few days to reply so please be patient. KIA 14/11/14 I was given his Death Plaque by a family friend about 27 years ago. Ive recently starting researching him and his family so any info or a picture would be much appreciated. One thing i would like to know is if his name is honoured on a memorial somewhere. BTW His father was Surg Gen Sir George J H Evatt KCB RAMC who is equally an interesting character. I have not been able to track down a picture of him so if you know of anywhere where i could find one let me know! Thanks again. Andy.
Alastair Posted 30 November , 2007 Share Posted 30 November , 2007 My great-uncle was Lt Daniel Martin TAYLOR of the 1/7th Scottish Rifles (Cameronians) killed on 28th June 1915 at the Battle of Gully Ravine, Gallipoli aged 20 years. He was initially reported as missing but death was acknowledged in 1917. He attended Glasgow High School and then worked for his father John Eadie TAYLOR in his lace/linen factory. They lived at Chislehurst, 19 Newlands Road, Glasgow. I wondered whether your records would have a mention of him even though he was from Scotland? Thanks
