A friend of the family is trying to find any information on this person, Captain Alex Hubert Robins Mackay M.C.

The only information that i have been given is that he was with the 5th battalion Canadian Regiment and that he died on the Somme on the 2nd of February 1916. I have looked on the CWGC web page and found no information on where he is buried.

If anyone has any information i would be grateful.

Alex

His MC Citation, London Gazette #29824, 14 November 1916. Link to Gazette is Here

Lt. Alexander Herbert Robins Mackay, Inf.

For conspicuous gallantry in action. He obtained communication with the right half of his company under very heavy fire, displaying great courage and determination. Later, he carried out a valuable reconnaissance.

Regards

Steve
