Hello all,

My name is Rodger and I'm a new member from New Zealand.

My Grandfather served in Palistine from 1916 to 1919. He was with the Wellington West Coast Mounted Rifles and shipped out with 12th reinforcements. He arrived in Egypt a matter of weeks before the formation of the 15th Company of the ICC and was in the one of first intakes for the 15th. He served with them until they disbanded in 1918 at which time he retrained as a Machine Gunner and was in the No2 NZ MGS. The No2 NZ MGS was formed with the New Zealand members of the 15th and 16th Companies of the ICC.

If anyone has any information about the 15th or the No2 NZ MGS it would be appreciated. I'm interested in information about the equipment they used, the saddle mainly. I have seen a saddle in the Auckland museum but there is some doubt as to its origin.

I have a number of photo's that he took in Palistine but the are in very bad condition. I hope to have them published on the NZMR web page in the near future.

Thanks in advance, Rodger
