Can anyone please tell me what a "Z" means on the medal card. Is it something to do with reserve?

Thanks.

Could you be a bit more specific? It could be the start of his name if that happens to be Zebedee. :D

Under the remarks section (right) on the front of the card, there is the letter "Z" as if it is a code for something?

Class "Z" Reserve basically transfer prior to final discharge;unless of course his name was Zebedee!!!

I could have sworn it said "Before you post a question, do make sure you have checked out "Interpreting medal index cards" and other advice on The Long, Long Trail (link top left of this page)" at the top of this page. Oh, it does!

So if a card has Cl Z AR 26.10.19 would it mean that the date given would be when the soldier came home?

Not at all. It is the date he was transferred to Class Z Reserve. Date of homecoming could vary between a few days and many months before this.
